This formal residence was inspired by Neo-Classical architecture of 18th-century England and France. The eclectic home is organized around the nine-square plan of Italian courtyard palazzi, which creates an efficient layout that enables quick navigation of an otherwise large residence. The great hall, which occupies the central square of the plan and doubles as a ballroom, is modeled after the Breakers in Newport. The formal dining room was based on the Rococo Salon Vendome at the Ritz Hotel in Paris. mark
