This classical pool pavilion sits in a lush tropical setting on a grand estate on the north shore of Oahu that was formerly a botanical garden. Designed as a dramatic sculptural statement at the end of the main garden axis, with the pool viewed one way and the garden the other, the pool pavilion has a formal pediment above an arcaded entry. Thanks to an auspicious setting and in homage to Palladio’s Villa Barbaro, a working sundial was placed in the tympanum.
